Fraza do cytowania: Koczurko A.K., Kowalkowska I. A holistic view of the style and types of singing in the context of the function and operation of the vocal apparatus and the needs of human expression. Dental Forum. 2022;L(1):9–14. DOI: https://doi.org/10.20883/df.2022.1.

Singing and speech are human-developed activities for communication. The formation of the voice requires the cooperation of the nervous, respiratory, digestive, skeletal and muscular systems. In order to obtain the correct voice emission during singing or speech, there must be a close correlation between breathing, hearing and the other articulation organs. The articulation organs include, among others, the maxillary bones, mandible, lips, teeth, gingiva, tongue, hard and soft palate. The moment the sound is created is the moment the air overcomes the resistance of the vocal cords and produces an acoustic wave.

Key words: articulatory apparatus, speech, singing, screaming.
